Nestling in the centre of the medieval village of Weobley, The Salutation Inn is run personally by the owner, Stuart Elder. Stuart is a professional chef with many years of experience in a variety of locations and catering for a wide range of cuisines from as far away as the far east, all the way home to good old English cooking. Maintaining the best traditions of an olde English Inn, Stuart and his staff strive to make The Salutation one of the very best of its kind.

THE WELSH MARCHES.
The Salutation Inn makes the perfect base for touring the Welsh Marches. The Salutation is one of the few remaining Inns in North Herefordshire which offers comfortable accommodation and, as such, is truly worthy of the title “Inn”.  So, stay at ‘The Sal’ (as it’s known locally) and discover the delights of this peaceful corner of England and its many attractions. Furthermore, explore many historic sites and learn about the turbulent past of this area of the country bordering Wales. HEREFORD CITY.
Hereford City with its famous cathedral, chained library and the Mappa Mundi is just a few miles away from The Salutation. The name "Hereford" is said to come from the Anglo Saxon "here", an army or formation of soldiers, and the "ford", a place for crossing a river. The Welsh name for Hereford is Henffordd, meaning "old road", and probably refers to the Roman Road and Roman settlement at nearby Stretton Sugwas. Situated on the beautiful River Wye there are many delightful walks and, not too far away at Glasbury, the opportunity to canoe downstream into Whitney, stopping for lunch at the famous 'Hay-On-Wye. The staff at The Salutation Inn will be only too happy to talk to you about local attractions and places of interest.
